26 Letters

26 letters of the alphabet. 26 different fonts. 26 different outcomes.

As I mentioned in my last post, my first task at uni was to make 26 100mm x 100mm letter cards. I’d picked which font would go with which letter and had started on a couple. But now I’ve finally finished and I thought I’d post them up here! I’m happy with how the majority of them turned out, although the pictures aren’t as good as they could be!

Obviously it’d be silly of me to post every image on here at a bigger size, so I’ve uploaded them all onto Flickr so it’s easier for you to look through (and it means less hassle resizing etc for me!) Check the set out here.

Final Project & Exhibition

My last post for tonight, promise!

My final project was obviously a massive part of the course, and we put on an exhibition to show the work from this project in particular. Most of my sketchbook from that is written research so I don’t have alot to show sketch wise, but I did find the exhibition artwork I done. I won the student vote on the invitation design – which was designed similarly to my final piece – and was asked to do posters for the show, along with all of our name plaques and info posters to go around the exhibition room. Most of the photo’s from the show can be found here, so I won’t post them again, but here’s my sketches and the artwork!

College Bits

Aswell as taking pics of parts of my sketchbooks, I took some of the odd bits of work I’d forgotten about. It’s all being packed away tomorrow so I thought I’d post them here too, some of it is bad, some of it is from my drawing classes (which I despised) but each of them helped me develop myself further.

Sketchbook Snippets Pt. 2

Another round of snaps from my sketchbooks!

Sticker Books!

My sticker books arrived from Moo this morning, and I love them! A few of the colours didn’t work (the joys of screen v print) as well as I thought but I don’t need to use those ones. I was also a bit worried the “Lee-Ann Donaldson” would be far too small to read in print but it’s come out okay – they’re definitely usable. I ordered 2 books with 90 stickers in each, and there are 16 different colours.

Reflective Journal Snippets

Since I brought my work home from college in June, it’s sat in a box at the top of the stairs just waiting to be sorted out. Tonight I had a look through the first reflective journal I done and it was very nostalgic! I decided to take a few pics of parts of it and post them on here, as I’ll do with my other sketchbooks/journals, before I pack them all away for many years.

This first one has things from 3 different projects, plus reference sketches from a visit to the Design Museum in London. I blur out the text because my journals were pretty personal in what I wrote about my work and I’m not sure I’m confident enough to share that yet!

18 Free Social Networking Icons

I’ve almost certainly missed the boat on this custom networking icons thing. But nevertheless, here we have it, my first freebie! I was asked to make the icons used in this transparent so they could be used on websites, so I decided to make a little set.

These are pretty wobbly in parts and although they’re all 64px wide, they’re not all the same height (from 64-66px) – but that adds to the hand drawn feel.

Quick screen shot:

The files are all in PNG format and are transparent, inside and out, as shown here:

They’re free for personal and commercial use, no restrictions. But the sale of the icons is prohibited. Feel free to share – and enjoy them! If you like them, or have any suggestions on how to improve on icons in the future (this is my first ever attempt!) then leave a comment.
